Dozens of children and disadvantaged families were supported during TELUS Days of Giving

We recently celebrated the International Volunteer Day, and the TELUS Days of Giving charity program is in full swing. For almost a month now, 400 volunteers have been actively involved in 6 projects, helping homeless people; children deprived of parental care; patients suffering from severe neurological diseases and children from disadvantaged families whose parents have lost their jobs as a result of the COVID-19 situation.
Shortly before mid-November, two of the projects were launched. In one of them - "Kids go shopping" - the first 11 children and young people together with volunteers from the company bought clothes, backpacks and accessories related to their own hobbies and interests. At the Farm Shelter, TELUS International Europe volunteers from the offices in Sofia and Plovdiv supported Animal Rescue Sofia by walking the dogs housed there.
A few days later, another project was launched - "For our children". The project helps socially disadvantaged families with children up to the age of 7, whose parent has lost his job due to the COVID-19 crisis. Our volunteers prepared food packages to cover the needs of families for 2 to 3 months.
In the last weekend of November, 57 families whose members suffer from neurological diseases were helped. TELUS International volunteers packed over 1 ton of food products that are fully compliant with the diet of these people, delivering most of them to the homes of the families. The second stage of the projects "Shopping together" and "Happy dog". "Happy Life" were realized. For the shelter "Farm" were delivered 1 ton of raw food donated by the company.
By the end of the initiative, the projects "Backpack surprise" and "Knit it forward" will be implemented. For this purpose, the volunteers from the company prepare personalized backpacks with sports kits, fully tailored to the preferences of children. By knitting hats, blankets and special magic squares, nearly 750 homeless people will be warmed. All necessary materials are donated by TELUS International Europe.
