LET’S GO: Accenture Bulgaria supports social entrepreneurs

Accenture strongly believes that ideas can change the world - and that individuals can inspire a movement. That is why it stands behind social entrepreneurship, as it is by joint support and collaboration that complex challenges facing society and our planet are most efficient.

For 5 years now, Accenture Bulgaria has been partnering with a local NGO – Bulgarian Center for Non-profit Law (BCNL). The partnership aims to encourage and support social entrepreneurship in Bulgaria and raise awareness about its local representatives among communities. Its goal is to promote social enterprises’ development, unlock their potential and increase their long-term impact and visibility.

The two organizations have joined forces along with some other partners to establish an overall targeted approach for promoting social entrepreneurship in Bulgaria. Every year, BCNL organizes Let’s GO competition for social entrepreneurs, providing the opportunity to win 3 prizes valued EUR 5000 each to kick-start their ideas.

All participants in the program undergo initial training in business planning, finance, marketing, PR and communication skills modules. In 2022, 12 organizations participated in the program and were supported by a total of 17 mentors and trainers. The final selection of the winning candidates was entrusted to an expert jury – including Accenture in the face of Petar Torneff.

Since the beginning of the initiative, more than 170 innovative business ideas have been supported. During these 5 years, Accenture has provided BGN 81,000 to BCNL, but it is much more to the team than the monetary support and Dar Pazar development. The excellent results have motivated the company and the Foundation to develop new ideas as part of their joint partnership. In 2022 the company will financially support the opening of a new shared space in Sofia where representatives from social enterprises would be able to present their products offline and organize events. It will become a showroom that promotes the development of social entrepreneurship in the country. Its official opening is planned for summer 2022.
