BIC opens Shared Services Center in Sofia

As part of its global transformation plan to operate more efficiently, enhance its consumer-centricity and achieve sustainable growth, BIC, a world leader in stationery, lighters and shavers, announces the opening of its first Shared Services Center here in Sofia.

The BIC Services Sofia official opening ceremony was held on October 22, 2020 and hosted by BIC Services Sofia Director George Menev with a special message from BIC CEO Gonzalve Bich. Guests included French Ambassador Florence Robin and French Chamber of Commerce President Stéphane Delahaye.

Now we look to the next 75 years, focusing on investments and opportunities that will help us operate with greater efficiency and agility, continue serving our consumers and customers, and achieve sustainable, long-term growth. An important part of that strategy is the creation of our Shared Services Center, here in Sofia. We chose Bulgaria and Sofia because of the good economic environment and the opportunities to recruit skilled and educated team members with strong technical expertise,” Bich said in his personalized message.

In his remarks, Menev thanked Invest Bulgaria Agency and the Ministry of Economy for awarding BIC Sofia Services a Class A certificate of Investment, which will help BIC continue to grow. The team expects to have 230 employees by 2022.

BIC Services Sofia acts as a highly efficient internal service provider offering a full range of tools and services. Located on the top floor of Bulgaria Mall, Tower B, the center will consolidate administrative tasks and activities within BIC’s European Finance, Accounting, Reporting, Transactional Procurement, Customer Service and other corporate functions in Europe.
