AIBEST and SoftServe continue their mission to inspire young tech talent through real-world innovation projects in partnership with Burgas Municipality and the Regional Department of Education
The Association for Innovation, Business Services, and Technology (AIBEST), in collaboration with SoftServe, is organizing the third edition of the Tech Academy in Burgas — part of the initiative’s fifth national edition — aimed at high school students in 10th to 12th grade with a technical background. The educational program is carried out in partnership with the Municipality of Burgas and the Regional Department of Education.
Held from July 4 to July 28, the Academy gathers students from leading technical schools in Burgas, including the High School of Computer Programming and Innovation, the High School of Electrical Engineering and Electronics “Konstantin Fotinov,” the High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences “Acad. Nikola Obreshkov,” and the High School of Chemical Technologies “Acad. N. D. Zelinsky,” as well as participants from the national program “IT Skills and Career Training” by the Ministry of Education and Science.
Participants are grouped into mixed teams of 4–6 students and mentored by professionals from prominent Bulgarian and international IT companies — all members of AIBEST. Throughout the Academy, mentors support the teams by sharing guidance, know-how, and feedback — helping students approach their projects in a way that mirrors real business processes.
The initiative is designed to provide hands-on experience and foster teamwork, creativity, and applied technical skills. At the end of the program, student teams present their projects before a jury of representatives from the tech industry, local authorities, and education.
“The experience we’ve gained in Burgas shows that real-world project work during the summer is incredibly engaging for young tech talent. The Academy equips them with essential skills for future career development, and it’s clear that this motivates many to take part,” said Nataliya Shishkova-Georgieva, Executive Director of AIBEST.
The Tech Academy continues to strengthen the connection between the business community and future tech talent by offering students a unique opportunity to tackle real challenges alongside industry professionals. Taking place from July 4 to July 8, the initiative not only fosters essential digital skills and teamwork, but also demonstrates how collaboration between businesses, educators, and public institutions can empower the next generation and contribute to the long-term development of regional innovation ecosystems.
